A cataclysmic even occurring 400 years before the beginning of The Aldersgate wherein a large collision was reported in the skies. The one moon interfered with the comet or meteorite, and was broken into two. The following century saw the suffering of the inhabitants of Earena, who, in the wake of the collision endured floods, fire, and famine.
Much of the pre-Collision world was forgotten, in spite of the fervent efforts of the first King and Queen--Frederick I and his wife Basha. They planted a series of alder trees from the the island of Mor all the way to the tip of Soderon in what many believe was a gesture of growth and renewal. When the trees grew to their full heights, the curious weather abated, however. These trees are refered to as the Aldersgate and were once watched over by the Tenders.
